Raizel Labuntog

Raizel Labuntog is a Filipino-American writer and filmmaker based in Queens. She immigrated with her family from the Philippines and grew up in Denver, Colorado. She is empowered by genre and writes from her lived experiences and curiosities.

Recently, she was a Semi-Finalist for both the 2024 Kurt Vonnegut Speculative Fiction Prize and the 2024 Iridescence Award with her short story “Floating Island”. Her feature The Desert Eagle is a Vail Screenplay Contest 2024 Quarter-Finalist.

She is currently a Production Assistant for Yu-Gi-Oh! at Konami.
